Summary

This class will help you quickly take advantage of the increased productivity of AutoCAD Mechanical helping you understand it's unique workflow. You will gain experience using tools for basic drawing and design configuration. A key focus you will learn about is how AutoCAD Mechanical will automatically help you maintain standards while using drawing, modification, and annotation tools. You will discover why so many people have switched to AutoCAD Mechanical as you learn to use tools which are more powerful than standard AutoCAD tools. Additional topics covered are integrating intelligent borders, creating parts lists and adding annotation such as balloons and weld symbols.

Who Should Attend

AutoCAD users who plan on using AutoCAD Mechanical. Students without AutoCAD experience may attend but will find the pace more aggressive.

Objectives

Upon completion of the class, the student will be able to create a basic 2D drawing using mechanical specific drawing and editing tools. The student will add text, dimensions, and annotation while maintaining a drawing standard. We recommend 20-40 hours of practice after class in order to reinforce these new skills.

Prerequisites

It is recommended that the student have a working knowledge of:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP, or Microsoft® Windows® Vista.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD fundamentals is helpful but not required
  • Drafting, design, or engineering experience.
